Dunlop brand Aerogel Ultimate Amr Shabana '07/'08 signature model. Yellow & white. This is the top of the line racquet from Dunlop. It weights in at an incredibly light 137 grams. This racquet is designed for players at an advanced intermediate to advanced level.The huge advantage this racquet this has over the rest of the field is the incredible strength to weight ratio. The material the racquet is composed of is quite literally the world's lightest solid. The technology is a spin-off of aviation material that found a use here and in top-end tennis racquets. The aerogel material has a strength of 4,000 times it's own weight!!!! All that is just science until you take it out on the court--having a lighter racquet enables greater swing speed, less deviation from base shape upon impact (better accuracy) and more resiliency. This racquet features a standard ovular face--What is not standard is that the interplay of materials designed to make the sweetspot larger--Even if your shot is not exactly centered, you have a better chance of getting off a decent shot with a greater margin of error. That is crucially important for all level players. Frequently you have adequate time to set up for and make a nice return but the true test of an excellent player is how you perform under pressure, off-balance, in an awkward stance, pressed for time--a better racquet gives you an edge under conditions like this. The weighting of the racquet is head light--definitely an advantage for pinpoint accuracy and deception. The head is a slightly larger than average size- 500 sq. cm. Because the material in the frame is so light it is possible to have an above-average size head with a super-low weight. The racquet comes pre-strung with Dunlop's own top-of-the-line M-Fil Pro stringing. Finally, the racquet is equipped with a protective lightweight plastic covering on the exterior, particularly around the topmost part of the racquet. Also included is a premium padded racquet cover.
